Synopsis

Watson has taken charge of a retreat for convalescent officers in Hulstone Towers Nothumberland, ancestral home of the Musgraves, the Musgraves have opened their home to these patients, but it is a grim cheerless place. When Sexton the docotor assisting Watson is found dead, stabbed by an unknown person and the clock tower strikes thirteen, the Musgraves become nervous as this is the sign that one of them will die next, Watson hurries back to London and returns with Holmes. "Houses, like people, have definate personalities and this place is positively ghoulish !"
